This is REALLY a back to basic spot. Although you pay 165 euros for 2 people for 1 night, you’ll find yourself spending the night in a wooden cabin without running water (that means, no ordinary toilet). The bathroom facilities are about 30 meters from your cabin. And although we had our own toilet and shower, the facilities were really basic.
We enjoyed the €40 Elzas platter for dinner the night of arrival, which was nice, but nothing more than a basic platter of local bread, some cold cuts, cheese, tomatoes, vegetable crisps and butter, and a bottle of cremant. Nice, but not worth a cent over €40!!
Unfortunately, the breakfast was a real downer. A bag filled with 2 slices of french baquette, 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of cold cuts, 2 juiceboxes, some milk, jam, unripe fruit and butter. NOT what you would expect in this price range.
All together, I wouldn’t reccomend the cabanes, simply because the value for price just isn’t right. The location is beautiful and the views stunning, but for €165 one would expect a great breakfast and running water in the cabin.
Stayed at cabane islandaise with the family and we were thrilled discovering this beautiful place. A childhood dream of sleeping in a luxury cabin in the trees, full of well thought through little details and Stunning views. The host is …
Great experience. Beautiful cabins, a big and filling breakfast and just a beautiful scenery. I recommend using the hot tub even if it cost a bit more, totally worth it. Friendly and nice host. If you’re around don’t miss out on visiting this beautiful, calm and lovely place.

Beautiful accommodation on the flanks of the Grand Ballon
The location of the cabanes is amazing, however considering the price it’s very overpriced and not good value for money. The accommodation is simple and doesn’t have running water or sanitation in the cabin. This is shared and outside. …
Superb experience in these exceptional cabins close to the big ball. We loved going to the Arctic cabin as a couple. The cabin is superbly decorated, well laid out and the concept of being in the heart of nature is particularly well conveyed. The breakfast was very complete, the beds very comfortable. The Nordic bath is a little gem. I advise you to go there during snowy periods with good weather. The low temperature - Nordic bath - view of the large balloon combo is a best-of. I only regret the addition of reservation fees, especially when the stay was offered as a gift.
What an unforgettable experience at the Arctic Cabin! A magical night in the trees with a breathtaking view of the snow-covered forest. The outdoor Nordic bath added a touch of luxury and privacy, while the delicious breakfast perfectly complemented this winter getaway. A haven of peace in the heart of nature, to relive without hesitation! ❄️🌲✨
